    Hi everyone

Would anyone have any recommendations as to the best companion plants for butternut squash? Want to do all I can to repel all of the nasties.

    Thank you.

    Jules

Hello Jules. Butternut Squash is quite happy planted in amongst Sweet Corn, they work well as companion plants, I've been using that combination for a few years now.
Don't think nasties should be too much of a problem, squashes don't seem to be affected by pests too much, although watch out for slugs and snails having a nibble at the young plants when you first put them out.

Only prob I've had was when I'd one in our polytunnel and found several big fat caterpillars munching on the flowers. Never really had any significant problems with bugs on the ones I've grown outside.
