cabbage whites

    hello,can anyone tell me what the best way to deter cabbage whites?

    I cover mine with Scaffolders Debris netting and some water pipe supports.

    I've got netting over mine, I was watching a cabbage white flitting about today going from each patch of brassicas to another. It gave up after a while.

    It only needs one butterfly to wreak havoc - I'm not risking relying on a tennis racquet or noxious potion :thumb:

    I agree, and netting protects from the pesky pigeons too.

    I got as much debris netting as I could carry simply by asking when scaffolders were removing it. Apparently they rarely re-use. I just had acouple of holes to sew up. Should last for years too

    i have my own way to deal with pigeons and any other pest/vermin!

    Those cabbage whites are clever, the came back today and found a gap in my netting and two of them were happily flitting about laying eggs on my cabbages, grrrr.

    Last year i came back off holiday to find all my cabbages were net curtains, didnt get to try one.
