... because he was a silly boy and teased the dogs on the property across the lane (Portuguese equivalent of Jack Russels) ... and didn't make a quick escape ...

Boo being a kind big bro saying 'why is he wearing that silly Christmas hat' ...

Fortunately not serious damage but he's on anti-biotics for 8 days, pain killers and has to wear a collar ... poor poppet, bless! Fortunately it happened here as opposed to the UK ... visit to vet, examination and cleansing (30 minute visit), anti-biotic shot, pain killer shot, Fucidine ointment, 8 days of anti-biotic tablets, two days of pain killer medicine, tube of ointment, collar .... just under €55.

Sorry, pics not good ... haven't been taking photos of late ...

Ouch, Victoria!! I think we can take it that Cal used up on of his 9 lives with that encounter. I would say he'll have learned a lesson there and will be a lot slower to tease the dogs and a lot quicker to get an escape route worked out first. I would be in a mixture of pity for the cat and anger for the dogs, I guess, if it happened to my cats. At least Cal is in good hands with you. Victoria.:D

Poor old thing! :( I do hope he gets better quickly. Mind you, he's probably trying to say: 'you should have seen the dogs when I'd finished with them.' :heehee:

William doesn't go out much now, being an elderly gent. But when he was younger, his favourite pass time was to sit on our shed roof, just out of reach of next door's dog. He'd then wash himself v-e-r-y s-l-ow-l-y while the poor dim pooch went absolutely apes**t. Finally, he'd give the dog a withering glance and, with a contemptuous flounce of his tail, he'd be off. The great thing about dogs is they're such fun to wind up. They never, ever learn.

Thanks everyone ... he's had all your kisses and cuddles and good wishes and has enjoyed them all. xx

As we are in the country, the dogs home is perhaps 200 yards away but they have acres of land and are allowed to run loose. They are rarely (3 of them) on the lane but Cal likes to 'pop over' for a visit and no doubt taunt them. He's 5 1/2 years old now and a sandwich short of a picnic so probably doesn't know any better and cannot understand it all. You've probably all read his story here where I found him at birth in 34c weather at a rubbish bin in a plastic bag not breathing, wet with his umbilical cord ... so life is full of pixies for him at times ... bless xx

Every few weeks he comes flying through our gates with one or two of the little dogs following ... and straight up the Jacaranda he goes (it's closer than the back door and cat flap)!

He is feeling very sorry for himself indeed but we have just come home and taken the collar off him ... he is very good not to wash/lick whilst we are around ... or he knows the collar goes back on.

I will keep you posted and again, thank you for for your kind wishes.

                :kittykiss:

Oh poor Cal, I hope he recovers quickly and learnt his lesson not to taunt the dogs.

Thank you all my lovely friends for your kind words and wishes. I will try to be good in the future and not cause so much trouble. I have just had my medicine and ointment and Mummy is shutting the computer down now ... so from me ...

Oh, that looks nasty Victoria, he's had a lucky escape. You'll have to have a word in his ear about trying to tackle terriers, probably the worst dogs he could have picked. It's not their nature to back down!

I was reared with terriers and know their temperaments very well.

Hello, Sweetie, hope you are feeling better by now. I wonder if you'll ever learn to not get yourself into these pickles, but I doubt it. We just hope that you'll be more careful - and quicker! - next time.

Big kiss, pet and cuddle from both of us. xx
