Hi Yes Californian Lilac(Ceanothus) Semi-Ripe cuttings from mid July to late Summer, you can either cut just beneath a leaf node (some plants root better If you cut where the the new shoots are brown and then green(Lignification) leave just a little Brown at the base of the new cutting you are taking you should end up with the cutting about 3 to 4 inches in long then remove about a third of the leaves at the base ,sometimes with Ceanothus I gently pull the new shoot away from the branch and that leaves a small heel on the cutting which i dip in a Hormone Rooting Powder Place 1 or 2 in a pot round the edge,I have found it is advisable not to let the leaves touch each other, water them well and then I place a small plastic bag over the pot and fasten with an elastic Band:)

Cheers Woo thanks for the advise.:thumb: I'll take plenty of cuttings just incase some dont make it. I want to take a couple of branches off the plant because it is getting a bit unruly, and i hate throwing anything away, especially if i can get some new plants out of it, even if i have to give them away.:D 02
