When in need of trouble, albeit gardening, you've been there! So in desperation, and a 70's night looming, has anyone any idea the type of jewellery that was in fashion then? I'm basing myself on Nerys Hughes when she was in The Liver Birds, and yes, I know some of you out there ARE OLD ENOUGH to remember!! I've managed to sort myself the trousers, hat, even the platforms, but no amount of searching on the web has come up with any ideas for female 70's accessories!!! Help, time is running out!

I seem to remember big hoop earings! I bet you will have great fun, we went to a 70's night a couple of years ago with a competition for the best dressed, my hubby won wearing a suit with big lapels and flared trousers, a green shirt, kipper tie, wig, stick on side burns and a mousestache.Have fun ! :D

crochet bags seen them in the shops recently and we wore a lot of bangles in fact a lot of the fashion jewellery you can get away with, large neclaces.
I seem to remember with it being summer we wore hot pants and over the leg boots and they are back in fashion. Ankle bracelets a lot of girls had them and they are in.
Have a lovely time let us know what you ended up getting. rosa

Sorry, I'm afraid I'm Flower Power (Scott MacKenzie and all that) which is what I remember most. I do remember a lot of crochet tops and short, short skirts .... a bit like now, actually! Big dangley earrings and necklaces that would weight you down.

Hate to say it, still have some of the above ... actually, all of the above!

I have a pair of silver hoop earrings that I bought for 10/-. I have reclaimed them after a long period of daughters pinching them, and I still wear them.... :D

At 44, think I'll give the hotpants and the mini skirts a miss, but definately going for the false eyelashes and coloured beads!

Oh, and Dalbuie, my husband still has the sideburns! He said if he waited long enough they'd come back, and he was right! Just wish I'd kept my rah rah skirts!! Thanks guys, you've come up trumps again!

ra-ra skirts were from the 80's!!!!!

er - um (cough) - from what I have seen in films, it was BLUE eyeshadow, LARGE hoop ear-rings, and as many strings of beads you could get round your neck, or chokers.... and DON'T forget the LIP GLOSS!!!! - was but a twinkle in my Mum's eye back then.... (cough, cough, cough!!) ;)

Have a fab party!!!! (oh - and don't forget the piccies!!!!)
