My family name has origins in Cornwall and Northumberland. Does that count?

I think it means something like, clearing or settlement by the wood.

I once got piskie led in Cornwall, being directed for over an hour in a big circle through skinny rural roads.

Kindred spirit, again, there aren't too many "verduns" around. Surprised not too many Cornish posters. We have so many famous gardens, grow such a wide range including tender plants and everyone seems to garden so........
Anyway, Cornish or not, I take notice of everbody's post

Why don't you get more Cornish people to join? Whenever I've been to Cornwall one of the things I've liked about it is that everyone seems to know somebody who knows somebody, and everyone seems to pass through the local pub. Why not have a word with Zigs about some of the GC business cards, and cunningly 'forget' them and leave them lying on the bar:)

Hi Verdun, well my name is a bit of a giveaway as to where I am from.
Unfortunately my parents moved to the mainland, (Penzance) soon after I was born.
I'm now well and truly settled in south devon.
