Can someone please tell me what's wrong with my Camelia, it has yellowing leaves but it is in fresh ericaceous compost, planted last year.

Thanks, I thought it might be a nutrient deficiency but I'm not sure.

Could be virus damage , camellias can get various irregular leaf spots and variegation caused by virus.
It doesn’t usually affect the growing or flowering , although it could slow the growth , due to the lack of green in the leaf to take up sunlight and produce food.

If it is infected with a virus should I destroy it ? Could the virus spread to other plants ?

I could be wrong but I think most plant viruses only affect closely related plants.
Personally I'd wait and see if it grows out of it this coming year.
