I have tried but without success.

Acording to the books August is the best time, take semiripe cuttings.

nicsdad, I would prefer to buy a new one as I like "instant garden" ... but if you're doing it to get more plants ... it cam be difficult.

You can take cuttings or try to layer, which is the best and probably most succesful method.

Hello, Bluedun, and welcome to GC!

If you have any low growing shoots then layering is probably the easiest way of propagation.

Bend a shoot down to soil level, sc-rape the bark opposite a leaf node and firmly peg the shoot down with a stout wire inverted 'U' then cover with soil and a heavy rock or brick to stop any ground movement. Leave undisturbed for at least 12 months (18 is probably better). Once you are sure the layer has taken you can then separate the stem from the main plant, carefully dig up the rooted layer and replant.

Layering is a slow process but is often sucessfull with otherwise difficult to propagate plants.

EDIT: Word censor didn't like s****e  hence sc-rape

I tried cuttings with the ones in my parents' garden. 100% failure! :(
    Hope you have better luck.
