Can anyone ID this plant found in Mexico please?

I'm trying to find out what type of plant this is, found it on holiday in Mexico earlier this year.

Hello dodgie Richard and welcome to GC.

I would say it's a Canna indica but I really can't see the leaves. There are many species, plain as in your picture and frilled. as some I have. I just love them and have several varieties .... they are just so beautiful.

Hopefully someone else will come along and also give their opinion.

In the meantime, enjoy the forum.
