Can anyone identify this Hozelock fitting?

I found this Hozelock fitting in my inherited workshop come potting shed and I cannot identify it.



The grey Hozelock end unscrews and it looks to me as if it takes some sort of cartridge but what, I have no idea (and the Hozelock site was no help either).
Can anyone help?

 

Found one similar, it was a tap connector, hope this helps

 

Thank you. That is precisely what it is. For an old-style kitchen tap. The fact I have an outdoor tap I never even considered that.
