    Dear All,

I have this shrub in my back garden and it is in desperate need of attention. Can anybody identify it so I may figure out the best way to reduce it's size and rejuvenate it.

    Many thanks,

    Hi Welcome to the forum

I think ... its Elaeagnus , but I think originally it was variegated the leaves should have a golden edge to them and its reverted to green , if wanting to reduce the size it needs to be done over at least two years so remove half of them and leave the rest , see what the others on here have to say as well otherwise the shock of hard pruning may kill it

Yep, an Eleagnus, Chris, probably maculata or ebbingeii Limelight. As Spruce says, it's reverted to mostly plain green, and if it's pruned hard it'll probably rejuvenate itself all plain green. Should take hard pruning OK though, in Exeter!
