    They look like Oak leaves to me.

    Looks more like oak to me but it's still a bit young. Not birch as they are pointed.

        I don't know what it is but just a thought, lowest leaf looks like a cotyledon.
        Not totally sure but I think acorns leave the cotyledons below the surface.
        Does look like possible squirrel planting.
        @Billi ,was there any sign of an acorn attached to the roots.

              Pic below to show young Quercus sp ...common name oak seedling.

              Normally if you move them the acorn is still attached and very obvious.

                I have a feeling it might be brussle sprout seedling?
                Not grown them in about 5 years though lol
