    Hi all,

We've had this plant for ages, it sits behind a door, it takes up so much room, that there is no other place for it.

Was wondering if I can put it outside in the garden, either in a bigger pot of plant in a flower bed?

Its a kind of yukka, other than that I have no idea!

I've got one of these too. Its not hardy. It will be okay during the warm summer months but won't last outside in a frost

    Thanks for the reply.

so if I just put it pot on the patio during spring/sumemr, and put it in the garage in the winter, it'll be ok?

It would appear to me that it will be fine outside during the Spring/Summer/Autumn. For the winter you would need to bring it indoors ... can you not find a place in your house rather than the garage as it's such a pretty plant.

Hi, I have a couple of plants that I have just put outside for their summer holiday, a peace lily and an agave, both have survived this treatment for couple of years. I bring them back in autumn.I'm sure your plant will be fine.

    Good luck

    Thanks guys!

I can't put it inside really, its so huge! At the mo its shoved behind a door in our bedroom. The garage does have a window (in the side door) so it should be ok in there, its where I put the patio pots in the winter.

Mine lives in the porch in winter and seems to survive. It does seem a shame to lock it in a garage though!

I can sympathize with you as I have a Ficus tree that is taking up a good part of my living room right now. [IMG]
It is going outside the minute the weather gets straightened out. I usually cut it back hard before I bring in it in the fall and then the process starts all over again. I think there are ways to root the tips of your plant if you want or cut the whole thing back. That will reduce the size.

I have the same plant and put it out during summer and bring it in when frosts starts and it has thrived.
