    Hi,

My partner has just purchased a new house and there are some plants outside his front door that we have no idea what they are.

The housing development is called "Iwade Meadows" and the roads are named after butterflies, therefore the plants that have been placed there are to attract wildlife and butterflies.

At the moment these plants just look like brown / yellow sticks that don't seem to have any spikes on them. I've attached a photo, sorry the quality isn't great.

Can someone try and help us identify them please? We'd like to know how to care for them.

    Thank you :)

The look like they could be Dogwood (not a butterfly plant) to me, but could be something else. A close up of the stems and buds would help.
