Can you identify this one?

    Please could someone tell me so I can tell my Granny what this is? It grows quite prolifically all over the island, both by the sea and inland. It's in an eggcup so you can see how small it is.

    What a pretty flower, and sorry no, it is not familiar to me. But from the flowers, I bet the bees love it.

    Its not something I've seen around.
    Probably something more seen on the continent perhaps, bearing in mind your location.
    Unusual markings on the leaves.

    No wonder its all over the island......related to japanese knotweed?
    I can see it now Bayleaf, similarities in the flower to russian vine?

    I shall make a mental note of that one Bayleaf, thanks, pretty though it is, not sure I would want this one, with its relations.

    lol typical response, I proudly presented Granny with the print-out of your link Bayleaf, and my Gramps says "I told you it was a...." hang on, big word... "persicaria, didn't I?!" :D
