    [IMG] Hi all,
I am going to Canada for my hols soon & was wondering if there are any "must see" places anyone would like to recomemend..!!?? [IMG] I shall be flying in & out of Toronto & travelling around. I have lots of places marked out but was wondering what any of you had to say.... ;) Have thought of driving up to Hudsons Bay. I have only ever seen it as a frozen wasteland that I fly over. There is a wonderful State Park there & it is driveable at this time of year. But was wondering what other places, gardens, walks etc that any of you could recomend, that you may have been to... [IMG] Thanks now, for any in-put... :D

I love Canada, go over every year. The Floral clock at Niagara on the Lake is worth seeing. Haven't been to the Botanical Gardens in Toronto, but have been to the one at Niagara on the Lake. Absolutely wonderful...but watch out for the Peacock. If you haven't already been a trip up to the top of the CN tower on a clear day is spectacular, and the roger stadium (formally the sky dome) is very impressive. Tours run most days. If you have time take a trip up the skylon tower in Niagra. This is the best view of the falls I have seen. I could go on and on about Toronto it really is one of my favourite places. It's even nice just to walk along the lakeshore and take in some fresh air.

    Enjoy you holidays!

    HI MF,

Yes the garden at Niagara is the one with the butterflies. There are also a lot of unusual shops round about that area. Niagara is gorgeous ââ?¬â?? unspoiled and commercial free. Or you have Clifton Hillââ?¬Â¦the Blackpool of Canada and home to the Casino.

It really depends on what sort of things you want to do. If you like rollercoasters then there is Canada's Wonderland, full of scary rides, they have an excellent science museum and a zoo, although I'm not keen on zoo's it is one of the better ones, plenty of space for the animals.

If you are looking for somewhere just to relax with some lovely scenery Ottawa is lovely. The lakeshore just outside the city of Toronto is great, just a short tram ride away of the shops & restaurants. Very safe & very clean. Kincardine, a small town at Lake Huron is also peaceful a lot of Scots there so I felt at home. Even managed to get some Irn Bru (Very important to us Scots!). Or if you are looking for something a little different try Kitchener, one of my favourite experiences was a Mennonite market. The best tasting pickles and fruit I have ever had.

Toronto & in fact all of Canada have an excellent transport system. The city has trams and the GO trains are fast and will take you to most places. Most of the roads are motorway so driving is easy. We normally fly into Toronto spend a week there and then onto the US. There is a town between Toronto & Niagara called Burlington where we often stay. Easy to get too just on the QEW and drive. Nice and friendly and is on the lakeshore.

This year we saw the Lord of the Rings stage show. Fantastic although I think that it is closing soon and moving to London. What more can I say, great food, good weather clean and safe.

Hope this is useful, Im off to visit Tivoli Gardens & the mermaid in Denmark. Cant wait.

[IMG] Thanks for all that information Papajo... I shall definately steer clear of the Blackpool side of Niagara...!! Can't imagine anything so dreadful!!!! No I like a quiet holiday, but looking & seeing plenty!!! Have googled Kincardine etc & have put them on my list now. It is evergrowing...! ;)
We shall be popping into USA to spend a few days in Chicago with a friend who has just moved there!!! I know the west coast of USA very well due to family & friends out there, have been popping over there for the last 17yrs. Not Canada or the East coast USA...This will be a breath of fresh air..
Have a wonderful time in Denmark.. The Mermaid..! We all think of that when we think of Denmark.. I don't know it, have Swedish friends & would like to do the "Nordic" areas sometime!! Have Fun!!! Thanks for the info... :D

Hi Marley, just got back from my hols and am trying to catch up with three weeks of GC.
Agree with Papajo about Niagara, went there two years ago, the Clifton "strip" is awful, the rest fantastic, particularly the Skylon tower, and the flower beds were jaw dropping. [IMG]
