Just wondering what seems to be the best time to put container cannas outside to fend for themselves??

I have 2 in containers which are around 6" tall and at the moment I put them out during the day but back into greenhouse at night.I have a further 5 late starters which are from 2-3" tall and tiny leaves are growing.Again out during the day and in at night.I will pot those up but a bit wary as they are small to leave them outside all the time.I am sure I read somewhere about the middle of June you put cannas out but the ones I have seen have been about 1 foot tall so not sure if to leave in greenhouse a couple of weeks longer.

All mine are out, I aim for 1st-June but by then I expect the min night temperature to be 10C, and it certainly hasn't been this year!

You can keep them in for longer to get them taller than 6" when you plant them out, which will get them flowering sooner - but for that I would have been inclined to keep them in the greenhouse, not outside, and then harden them off towards middle of June.

Yesterday Trogre. Night temps are up to around 10°c now , and remember they are very short nights. I planted mine out last weekend , don't have any container cannas this year.
