I got some half price cannas at the garden centre at the weekend. Is it necessary to cut them down and dig up the tubers? I would like to keep them in the conservatory over winter instead as the foliage looks so nice.

Do it. They'll keep growing and will be fine. Just watch out for pests such as red spider mite and whitefly. Red spider mite in particular can do a lot of damage, so make sure the plants have enough humidity.

Thanks Ornata, I will give it a go and keep a close eye on them.
