    I thought if anyone is around, he might like to know that at the moment the giant cardiocrinums flower at Dunham Massey near Manchester/ Altrincham... for 1 or 2 weeks only after 7 years of growing

      Well worth growing - if you get a couple to start with (and take more care of them than I did) you should have enough stock to bloom every year after three or four years.
