    Hi guys iv been seing a plant around the village where i live its a great big silvery looking plant.Anyway i was talking to a friend at work whoe;s a verry keen gardener and he thinks its a cardoon.Does anybody have any good pics of these please .Also how big do thay gow?Many thanks ..daz

    Here's mine. It's nearly 5 ft now and will probably be 8ft when it flowers.

    wow thats a goodun pete.Yea gotta get one of them mate i love big leaves lol.Currently got basjoo ensetta and a gunnera{thanks to banana man}My first year gadening so hopping to endup with a jungle sort of theme.Having said that we me and debs decided to put a 10ft trampoline in garden for the little girls birthday mmmmmmmmm...daz

    They are beautiful, Blackthorn and pete. The are really magnificent.

    I don't know anything about them so silly question I guess ... are they as prickly, spikey, thorny as they look?

    They are not prickerly at all LOL, although they look dangerous, can have a nasty habit of falling over when they get big which makes them then look really untidy.
    No, Peter its totally hardy.
