    Hi All,

I have got some carrots in pots that are very slow although they are supposed to be 'speedy veg' as the packet states. I sowed them into a mix of 75% topsoil and 25% compost. Is this ok or do i need to use a different mix? As I am going to sow another pot this weekend. I have read thuings about using sharp sand instead of topsoil, would this be better?

My GS wanted to grow carrots. We used 100% Wickes compost.
The heads are about 14" high. Can't comment on the Veg. end yet. We live in hope.:dunno::love30:
I've just checked an outer edge carrot in the pot. It looks about 3" long and 1/2" diameter - a while to go yet then!

Carrots are a bit slow growing, I wouldn't call them speedy veg, but well worth the wait.
