    Hi all, me again...

I have just bought a very large plant pot from asda for £4. I'm going to drill several holes in the bottom and fill with a decent amount of rocks and stones for drainage.

What type of compost should I use? I've read that carrots grow best in light soils. I have a bag of Argos kids play sand which I was thinking of adding to the compost to make the mixture even lighter and aid drainage.

Would a multi-purpose compost be fine? Should i use potting compost? Seed compost?

All advice is very much welcomed!

Use a soil/compost NOT too rich, try a third each of MPC, topsoil and sand Craig
