Just a thought, but they are fairly easy to come by via seed catalogues, and the reason I say that is, there a lots of different varieties around these days.

Varying in ultimate hight and also some interesting leaf and flower colours.

I assume we are talking about ricinus here and not fatsia.:)

Wow,burgundy coloured wild ricinus? You are indeed blessed with beauty, my dearfriend. I was going to suggest that "Carmencita" and "New Zealand Purple" have beautiful colours and can be had at Chiltern's, but your wild ricinus sounds just as good to me. Must come and see Portugal!!!! :)

Ivory, I think that you will find that Lol's Burgundy and Carmencita Ricinus are or at least look the same. I have to grow between 50/100 Carmencita every year and they are bronze/Burgundy particularly in full sun.
I presume everyone knows to wash their hands after touching these toxic seeds.:)

I've sent cheng jing some seedlings which she should have on Monday and no, I've never washed my hands after handling them and no, I've never put my hand in my mouth after handling them and no, I've never .....

If I disappear from GC it's because I've handled poisonous plants and not washed my hands ....
Sorry, strongy, I'm being VERY sarcastic here ..... :luv: xx :flag:
