    I just had to clean up 2 lots of poo off my lawn today, much to my annoyance. It got me thinking. I must admit to not being a cat person myself, but I wonder how often cats get the blame when it wasn't them. One of the lots of poo I had to clean up today was, in my opinion, two large to have come from a cat. It was more like a dog poo or possibly fox. I've caught the neighbour's yappy dog in my garden more than once before, and I've seen foxes in the neighbourhood.

    Luckily its quite a rare occurrence in our garden, so I can't really say we have a problem.

      ARMANDII, I always love the photos of Jenny and her ladder :blue thumb: :biggrin:

      Clueless, we get a fair amount of poo on the lawn but it's almost certainly fox poo. Cats rarely do it in the open.

        Very true, as Cats like to try and bury their poo, the cultivated areas such as beds and borders are perfect.

        Eventually I will have mine full with plants and my cats will not even be tempted. I do though intend to install a cat loo for them.

          Unfortunately not in my garden! I have to walk round with a spade to clear my lawns before I mow. We have no foxes here and I've caught the culprits in the act. Lazy cats round here me thinks. :)

              The bad side of cats.:nonofinger::mad:
              My cats know better than to kill any birds, besides the Blackbirds tend to rule the garden telling off my cats if they get too close or are in the way.

              that truly is the worst thing about cats :sad: we couldn't stop our our old girl Snow from hunting....amazing she was so incredibly good at it (seriously, she was a superb hunter ) as she was just a wee slip of a girl & snow white from head to tail.....& had so many bells on her collar she sounded like a Christmas song when running :rofllol:

                One of my cats, Jenny, a young farm cat when I got her, was drinking from the pond while I was watching and she was unaware that a small Frog was sitting under her chin. When it decided to leap so did Jenny!!!:heehee: She was heading for the house like a bolt of lightning. It's the Birds, Frogs and Hedgehogs that tell the cats what to do, not the other way around.:hate-shocked::lunapic 130165696578242 5:

                  I should change my occupation to 'Carnage Cleaner'. Our 4 lively youngsters often present various rodents, the odd bird or 3 and just lately a bat! It is a side that I don't like but have to let nature be.

                    oh i don't miss that! our Snow was terrible for bringing 'presents' home too, it seems everything & anything was fair game cos we sure got a variety! even a rabbit once! :thud: which beggars belief seeing as she was such a small cat & would've carried the rabbit up & over fences & shed roofs to get it home! :scratch: :dunno:

                    When our Oscar was with us only approved creatures were allowed. :)

                    Birds were perfectly safe as he considered that they were part of his domain. The birds knew it, as well. The baby pheasants used to play around him when he was lying on the patio. He went 'on guard' when a hawk was flying above and he stood in the middle of the lawn looking up at it. He kept the magpies away when any babies fell out of the nesting boxes when they were trying to fly. The parents knew he wouldn't hurt the babies and came down to assist their young.

                    Rabbits and squirrels were meals on legs and foxes and dogs (even an alsatian) left the garden very much quicker than they came into it.

                    Humans had to pass Customs Control where the only rule was stroking and cuddling - no exemptions. :cat-kittyandsmiley:

                      it sounds like your Oscar was a very special puddy tat Shiney :imphrt: i only wish our Snow was the same with birds, she knew to leave our pet birds in the house & the aviary well alone...but everything else was fair game as far as she was concerned :doh:

                          My neighbour keen gardener last week discovered what she reckons is the ultimate deterrent, Found on the internet. www.cactus-products.com. I have just obtained a box of anti climb spikes, been up the ladder and glued them to the top of my brick wall a favourite with the local pussy population, I shall now after risking life and limb wait to see results. Thought I would share this with you all. :cat-kittyandsmiley:
