Solved Catepillar id please

Who is this little friend? It's about the size of a finger. Google suggested Garden Tiger moth but the hairs are black so it doesn't quite fit.

Probably a Humped Mummy Eater. I have a book about moths and other crawlies and the names are just unbelievable.

On another note, is that shadow you holding a dagger?

 

No that was the person behind me.

 

I think it is garden tiger moth; the caterpillars are commonly called "woolly bears".

Look out for woolly bears in your garden (or even flying tigers)!

 

It’s been absolutely years since I last saw a furry caterpillar @Selleri ! ( that’s what we used to call them). It certainly brought back some memories when I saw your pic….. thanks!
