:D I do believe it refers to whether or not it has been spayed or castrated!

neutered sounds leess painful and nowadays it is - especially for the toms but for the little queens its still a major opp and they do take a while to recuperate.

We've got the pleasure of both a boy and a girl being "fixed" in January ... yeah! Can't have babies or I'd keep them all! :D :D :D ... and don't like incest! :(

Yes, the babies are a worry - once I had a cat I never let it go to any other home than my Sister. We also tried to make sure our queens never underwent pregnancy more than once, but Kitty was a very flirty little lady and caught me out, although she had the same father on both occasions and that was where the two half sisters to my two 19year olds (brother and sister)came from which my Sister had until recently. Alas, time took its toll some months ago and Prudence passed away. Prudence's sister Gertrude met an accident some years before but we haven't lost many to accidents thank goodness. My Sister had had several cats from me before that, which I had adopted due to their desperate need. I had the mother, grandmother and also father of the two I mentioned firstly. They are Tabitha and Pikelet and are beginning to feel their age, but luckily the back garden we have is entirely fenced in and very quiet and they can potter to their hearts content. The third one we have at present was homed from a previous neighbour of mine who suddenly found that she had terminal cancer and was devastated that she had just rescued a small black kitten she named Jessica which she could not after all look after. I couldn't ignore her distress at the situation and said we would have her kitten to put her mind at rest. After we had taken the kitten home(and she came without the slightest protest as if she had been waiting for me all the time) I realised that Jessica was a tom cat- but the name has stuck!
