Beginning of this Autumn hubby and I decided to improve our back garden so that for once in the summer we can relax in a reasonably organised surrounding if we get the time. However since its been done its more messy thanever with the neighbours cats fouling every inch of the new borders.
Has anyone tried the sonic device thats being sold specifically for cat deterrent?

I think Helen will know about this. Don't worry Aster, she will find the thread. Helen just loves cat pooh. She invented the art of pooh flinging, Think I've been here before. :D

Hello again, Aster. There have been many "debates" on this subject this past year if you look down through this thread ... some quite heated.

As you may notice, I am one of the "cat people" on here, having had cats for nearly 40 years. Personally, I can have never had the opportunity to appreciate the problems you non-cat people seem to suffer. My cats use an indoor litter box, an outdoor living room box and, on the odd occasion, a "sand garden" designed for their pleasure. [IMG]

I don't think any specific devices work ... and certainly don't believe the theory that oranges put cats off ... I moved with three cats from England to the middle of the orchards and they immediately fell in love with the fruit!

However, I do hope you sort the problem out amicable with the offending critters ... water pistols work a treat by the way ... I use this method if they are up on counters and other places they are not supposed to be.

If you catch them, put the hose on them or use a squirty bottle.

Thankfully my cat does his business in the next doors gardens and keeps fellow cats out ours.

    Pro Gard ... you're onto a winner there! :D

May I just say that, if you use the hose, don't have it on jet but a gentler spray, please. [IMG]

I`ve said it before and i`ll say it again [IMG] the best deterent is to get your own cat, preferably a neutered tom, because, as Pro says, the cat will go elsewhere to do his business but will stop other cat`s from coming into his territory.

Bet you are really popular with your NDN Pro. My next door but one's cats used to use my garden but since I stopped feeding Ed they don't come here so often.

Well, then you put them on a lead and take them to your nearest park. And don`t worry about picking the mess up, the kids will be alright. [IMG] :D

You could take a shovel and bury it.
