Hi Jamie and Welcome to GC:smile:

Our next door neighbours don't like cats and as we and others in our street have them they were faced with a problem.

What our neighbours did was to get one of those sonic type cat scarers that give out a very loud noise that only cats ears can detect and since fitting it have had no problems with cats using their garden as a toilet.

Get one of the ones that runs on electricity and not batteries as they work constantly whereas the battery ones run down and you have to keep replacing the batteries.I think they had a waterproof power point fitted in their garden running from the house but not exactly sure without asking them.Since having it fitted they have had no problems and their garden is poo free. They said that cats will walk through their garden but don't linger because of the noise.:snork:

Good Luck and hope you find a solution to your problem:smile:

That sounds like an easy fix, someone told me to squeeze oranges but it hasn't stopped them yet

I have the same problem. I don't think there's anything you can do legally as cats are deemed to be free to roam I think. I tried one of the sonic beam things but it was no use to me as there are too many routes in and out of my garden and the cats just changed the route.

I think it comes down to your relationship with the cat owners, I have a good relationship with mine and they have offered to come and clean it up themselves and have offered to pay for any cat repellents I have wanted to try but unfortunately nothing really stops them once they've decided your garden belongs to them.

There are some plants which attract cats and others which they like less. They're not keen on water so a hosing down if you're around when they're there but in my experience they use the garden either at night or when I'm not there. What bothers me with regard to children is that no matter how vigilant you are when cleaning it up you can never be sure there aren't residues which could carry infection.

I have seen those Lion poo pellets for sale at the garden center

Not sure if they actually work or not.
