I've taught myself to make simple styled jewellery in the last couple of years. It's quite easy really although there are some quite fiddly bits. The hardest part, by FAR, is deciding what you want to do! I bought some beads over a year ago because I really liked the colors and pattering to them but couldn't decide how I wanted to put them together. This morning I decided I would dig out my bits and make my Mom a Christmas gift. This is what I ended up with. The bracelet is about 7in long and the necklace around 26in. I wanted it a bit long so it wouldn't slip out of sight under a blouse or be long enough to wear with a sweater. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.
Catztail, that looks really elegant and is a ONE OFF of course. I love One offs and I'm sure mum will love it. Lovely colouring in the stones. Any idea what they are? Jenny
Thank you Jenny. I took the pic with my phone and it doesn't show the real color very well. The large oval are impression jasper and the small round ones are ocean agate. All of the metal bits are sterling silver. I like using the natural stones, you get some very pretty and interesting patterns to them.
Hiya Crazy Cat Lady ... I have quite a few items of such like jewelry friends have made for me over the years which I treasure, one lot is a pair of earrings a male friend made of ours made as he got into such ... and he was a painter/decorator by trade in Bucks. I find it all very 'touchable' and such a lovely gift to give. Well done you. xx
