celery

    i have some celery seeds growing in a tray.but how do i pot them up.? should they go in deep pot?

    I dunno but i think they have to be earthed up?

    Hi Duckyjuk your Celery seedlings just need to be potted on into 3" pots to grow on before planting out, they do not need deep pots as they do not have a long tap root.

    so do i just pot them into the ground after the 3inch pots..

    Hi Duckyjuk, yes you just plant them out when they have grown on enough which will probably be at the beginning of June now. If they are a self-blanching variety then you do not need to trench them which is the traditional method of cultivation, you can if you want to tie cardboard sleeves around them as they grow to blanch the stalks which help to keep them tender and less stringy it is also important to water them well.
