cercis chinensis avondale

we've just bought one of these 4 £7.50 from a local GC from its "plant hospital"
marked down from £35.00 but dont have any space to plant it out. Its approx 5ft tall, what do you think
its chances are if we planted in a bigish container. ? ? ?
has anyone been successful with a plant of this size. ?
we would appriciate your comments.

I have the Cercis siliquastrum ... all of them are of the Redbud family.

Mine is in the ground but they are smallish trees anyway so I can't see a problem it being in a large pot.

They are beautiful trees and I would go for it .. especially at the price you got it for there ... a lovely speciality tree in the Spring.

As long as the container is big enough, and you remember to feed and water regularly, it should do fine.

 

By the way, I think your garden is gorgeous ...

Mine is small too and I cram in all I can ... doing sub-tropical in a hot country ... so I appreciate what you are doing.
