I'm so pleased. I received some seed from a very kind member on here and now have some good little plants coming up. I didn't think anything was going to take as it all looked bleak till just lately. Now I have 13 cerinthe & 5 mirabilis.:thumb: May be couple more coming thru too.

Nothing from the others yet but i'm still holding out hope.

Going to plant these in pots, but i understand they grow quite bushy so even in a 18'' round container how many do you think i should put in?

No flowers at all on my nasturtiums although the leaves are huge. any ideas what I've done wrong?

    Thanks all.

    cheers

Borrowers, I have had Mirabilis in the ground at 2/3 ft high so I reckon 2/3 in a 18in pot would be enough.
If you have used compost with a slow release fertiliser the Nasturtiums will naturally grow more foliage due to the nitrogen. They thrive in poor soil, don't give them any extra feed and leave them to their own devices and they should flower in time, it is early days yet.:)

Mirabilis is a nightmare weed here, much as I love it .... does it not seed itself everywhere there?

Yes it does Lol but not usually to the extent that it becomes invasive.

It's VERY invasive here which is a shame.

Thanks for replies everyone. will remember to not feed nasts. - they're getting enormous!

Will only put a couple of each cerinthe's & mirabilis in the big pots then - looks like I'm going to have to ask hubby for some more big ones:)

    cheers
