chainsaw problem

    hi everyone
    i have a problem with my homelight chainsaw it is losing oil fairly quick when standing idle it is a petrol model and not used very often. has anyone any idea what may be causing it and a possible remedy. any advice would be very welcome.

    Assuming its not something daft like a lose filler cap, and as long as it starts and runs with no trouble, then it can only be a leaky gasket on the crank case. When you say its losing oil, is the oil actually leaking out from it, if so can you see where it is coming from? The trick is to give it a thorough clean, then leave it for a few hours. If you don't clean it then it can be hard to find out where its coming from because the oil just spreads itself everywhere.
