Changing from thread to thread problem

    Over the last few days I've had problems changing from one thread to another. There's a delay between the two, with a completely blue screen at the same time. This happens before the requested thread shows. Help with this would be welcome please.

    Device and browser might help, but there are so many parts to our access these days, it might be hard to track... id

      Is it possible to take a picture with a smartphone to show what the blue screen looks like?

        Bit of a head scratcher but there have been comments on the general slowness of the site. Nothing has changed and we're hoping it's simply related to the global IT issues seen recently. If that's the case it should resolve itself this week

          I don't find the site slow at all, it works as normal for me ...

            Always worth clearing cache and rebooting if it's a Windows machine, do a proper cold reboot.

            Also if it's a PC check if you have enough free space on your drive(s), empty the recycle bin and delete temporary Web browser files can help.

            Worth checking with the Task Manager what resources go low when you change threads, assuming you are on a Windows pc. You might be running low on memory or have an unexpected app hogging your cpu, some anti virus checkers can be the cause of that.

              I'm using a Samsung phone, and I'm having the same trouble, except my screen is pale green. I keep getting messages that I need to be logged in, when I have already done that.

                Via a browser? Do you log in to a Samsung account? Any anti-virus running? With so many variables it would be very hard to track down. I've no problems with this site, but have had some issues with a few others a few days ago. Had trouble with an Amazon Echo Show disconnecting this morning and did wonder as it's never had such problems before. The media have grown tired with the IT story so we are not getting updated, but I suspect there are still many issues.

                Yes via Samsung Internet (which uses Google but fewer ads) this is the main way I use the site not had this much trouble before.

                Not got Samsung Internet on my current mobile (was sure it was ), tried with FireFox and that accessed this site fine. My older S4 probably does have Samsung Internet on it. I'll charge it up and see if I can check it on there.

                  I don't have a smartphone @simone_in_wiltshire. I have a little old Nokia that never gets turned on. :biggrin:

                    I have a feeling you're right @Loofah. I haven't visited the forum since Sunday and it's worse this evening. GC does seem to be slow and I'm now getting a different coloured screen (not just the blue between thread changes. I've also been logged out. :scratch:

                    Thanks @JWK. I'm hopeless with computers but my son did a complete check on it a few weeks ago and all was well. There's plenty of space on the drives.

                    I won't be on GC again this side of the weekend as I'm moving house on Friday, I'll see if it's any different then and if not I'll ask my son to check it again. :)
