I needed a few plants to refurbish a couple of planters . My local nursery Kiwi at Standish sells plants off cheap at this time in the season.
4 large trailing begonias all colours £2
    Tray of 6 Dianthus £1
Laurentia Blue Stars ( lovely plant ) £0.50
The 2 shabby planters I had now look 100% :dbgrtmb:
I would think most nurseries will be selling off cheap at this time - it's worth a look !

Harry! I've discovered Laurentia this year. Isn't it amazing? A single plant in a pot just gets more and more beautiful as each day passes. I have noticed that a single flower will stay fresh for quite a few weeks. Not many bedders are that generous. I love it's wonderfully balanced growth,
      aaaahhhh :ktykss:

Jenny , I like them so much I went and bought another couple of Laurentia , £1 each , to replace a couple of petunias that seem to have gone ferral. They are a good 12" tall and look great , they also had some small ones 4" tall . Have you grown yours from seed are they 12" tall or the dainty 4" ones . The seed sites ( T and M ) say you can sow in September or February

I bought mine from my local Hospice head gardener for 50p a couple of months ago. I have just taken this piccie. It's 2ft 6" tall and the same wide Laurentia 23 July 2012 001.JPG - and still growing! Just the one plant in the pot.
