    Hi Everone

Just joined the site and very impressed with the knowledge of members, I recently purchased a greenhouse 8 x 12 and am having great fun with bedding, toms & melons at the moment, I noticed from reading the forum earlier how popular and recommended Bubble Wrap was for insulating greenhouses, My sister's boyfriend owns a garage door replacement company and most of the doors he buys come wrapped in large cell bubble wrap and being used for garage doors in huge sheet size, if no one asks for it he just has to throw it away, so why not have a look at Yellow Pages and give your local garage door co a call and I'm sure they would be more than happy to give you some.

Good Luck and a wram welcome to you all

I'm sure he'll be a very popular person with all greenhouse gardeners in North Shields, David! What a great idea!

    Welcome, BTW!

I insulated my greenhouse a few weeks ago with bubble wrap. there are special clips to push and twist the bubble wrap into the aluminium. It is lovely and warm in there just keeps it frost free. [IMG]

I am plesed to red your posts.
Using bubble wrap which has previously wrapped some big items from new on the way to the outlets, and would be wasted otherwise, is absolutely the right thing to do!
Besides, depending what it wraps, it can be so much higher quality than you find in the local post office, which must be the most expensive way on earth to get it!
Of course one needs to be a bit daring to go and get it...but in the name of a greener planet, we can do it!

I know of someone who goes to ASDA and raid the bins for bubble plastic and cardboard.
