Cheap source of grow bags

Just wondering how people are finding the cost of grow bags this year?

I haven't put in a lot of effort admittedly but all the main places (homebase, wickes etc) seem quite pricey for simple growbags.

Anyone have anywhere they've found with a great deal?

 

Is that on their own brand? Which volume bag? I think the Verve compost used to be great, then it wasn't and now no-one really trusts it. Very similar story with Wickes.

 

I don't see any point in buying grobags when you can use potting compost at a lot lower price.

Wickes have their usual 4 x 70ltr for £15 (was only £12.50 at Easter) and you can either use them as they are (extremely big for a grobag) or cut them in half and stand them up, like a very large pot. Or just fill big pots with it.

 

It's what I used to do but I tried gro bags again last year and got better results

 

Our local supplier The Compost Centre sells Westland Gro-bags at £11 for 3 bags (65l) delivered. I've never actually used these Gro-bags, instead using the Wickes MPC route as shiney described. But I use their other compost bags, they are exceptional value

 

They are and my normal go-to place John! I asked when they could deliver a tonne of topsoil a few weeks ago and they said in JULY!! So the word is out and the lead time seems too long for me.
Might be different for grow bags??

I had to wait 3 weeks for the normal compost soil improver & extra rich fertilizer, I was hoping to get some in time for Easter but missed that. Still it's been delivered now and a lesson learnt for next year, order a lot earlier!
