We are going to a 'bring a bottle and dish' this coming Saturday and I'm taking one of my favourites for an afternoon 'do' ... a Cheese Ball ....

One pack of Philadelphia Cream Cheese
Equal quantities of two other cheeses of your choice, ie, a cheddar, a nutty one, a blue one (it's all down to taste).
    Horseradish sauce or mustard.
Caraway or sesame seeds or crushed walnuts.

Have the cream cheese at room temperature and add equal quantities of two other cheeses of your choice grated finely. Mix well. Add horseradish or mustard .... or chopped onion or pickle or whatever you desire ... and mix well again. Roll into a log shape or ball, wrap in foil or greaseproof paper and refrigerate. Bring out when chilled and roll in seeds or nuts and refrigerate again until required. Serve at room temperature with crackers or toasted breads with pickles or olives as an accompaniment.

You can then decorate it with holly or bay leaves or even sage leaves/flowers.
