      We used to go on 'members day' every year for about 30 years. Then we found it was getting expensive and much too crowded. :sad:

      Nowadays we couldn't do it anyway as we always open our garden on Chelsea Weekend. Some of the GC members now come to us on the Saturday. As one of them said, the other year, "now let me see, I have a choice of spending up to £100 per head to go to Chelsea or go to Shineyland at £1 per head - with lots of plants for sale at a fraction of the Chelsea prices, cream teas at only £3.50, good company and non-stop entertainment. No contest!" :snorky:

      This year we have a dozen or so members coming to join the hoards of other punters :heehee:

          I prefer Shiney's show and then Hampton Court which is much less crowded and doesn't have any silly 'leading edge' show gardens.

            I went years ago and enjoyed it but too much of a crush for me now.. I was hoping to go to shiney's weekend this year but it hasn't worked out.. Hoping next year now..

                @Verdun I have wanted to go every year so far but O/H is usually away and have three dogs so no one here to look after.. He has cancelled at the last minute but cannot go as having a family get together now, so really hoping for next year now...! :scratch:

                    I would like to go to Chelsea but it's too expensive for what it is.
                    Especially if I factor in travel, something to eat when I am there etc......

                          Shineyland Open Day is not only just £1 to come in and tea and cake £2.50 and Cream teas £3.50 but I make sandwiches free for GC members. :blue thumb:
