Hi all, I have some cherry tomatoes (have had a few and they are gorgeous!) but a few of them are splitting. Am I leaving them too long on the plant? Thanks

Hi Penguin tomatoes have a tendency to split due to irregular watering i.e.watering them too much or trying to overwater due to them drying out a little, their insides plump up faster than their outsides hence the skins splitting. Glad you enjoyed the ones you ate.;)Hel.xxx.

Thanks for that. I haven't watered them much as we've had so much rain! Just got back from a couple of days away and half of what I picked were split. Got loads though and the others are lovely!
    Thanks again
