Cherry tree

    Last year I bought an ornamental cherry tree from Aldi (really cheap!!)

    Anyway it's thrived and this year has cherries growing on it.

    Are they "ornamental" as the name suggests or can they be eaten?

    Normally the 'cherries' on these ornamentals have very litle flesh and are extremely sour.

    Agree, just leave them for the birds.

    Well the day after I posted this the birds ate every single one of them!!

    It's a shame as they looked really pretty on the tree!
