It is rather late for me to post this up as the festival started yesterday but didn't think of it before. [IMG]

This festival is at Bennington Lordship near Stevenage, Herts. The gardens there are open throughout the year and this is their second year for the festival. I've never been before but will report back. I expect to find lots of hot things to eat :D

you can Google their website if you're interested - no time myself to put a link on.

It was pretty good at the festival which was in the grounds of a very large house within what looked like the ruins of an old castle. They had large gardens and vast lawns with lakes.

There were about 20 stalls selling different chilli plants and products with about six of them selling a variety hot and spicy meals from around the world.

It was crowded and there were obviously more people than expected because the stalls had run out of food by 3 p.m. and even the tea, coffee and ice cream had run out - but they still had cold beer [IMG] :D

Great pics shiney, looks lovely. Did you sample any of the food?
I would have loved to have gone, just a bit too far away for me. :(
Did you bring anything interesting home to plant for next year?.

    Hi dalbuie
We had lots of tastes of foods from around the world (Indian, Thai, Mexican, Caribbean, Morrocan) and there were lots of chilli sauces, pickles, chutneys and various creamy and dry dips to taste. We didn't bring back any plants because our birds eye plants from last year are still going strong.

That's a good crop strongy. [IMG] [IMG]

As I run the Parks Dep't nursery here I have a 'slight' advantage having an extremely large (and most of the summer empty) glasshouse to grow all the chillis tomatoes and peppers I want. :D . I did give a lot to a colleague who gave me back a jar of sweet chilli jam. mmmmm.
