Trying to grow both for first time. Two of three cucumbers emerged and small but strong looking. Then they both went yellow from leaf tips inwards and snuffed it. Where did I go wrong????

Also one chilli emerging but doesn't seem to want to come out as has looked the same for about two weeks. Had read tip (Kirsten's I think) about putting bag over as compost kept dring out and have put this over chilli pot and peppers but when do I take it off?

Have planted some more cuc seeds (aren't they pricey) but don't want to make the same mistake. Any advice gratefully received.:cnfs:

Either too cold, or the stems got wet and rotted - the latter is very common in Cucumbers.

If your baby Chillie plant is in a bag make sure it isn't in direct sunlight here it is likely to cook. You could open the bag during the day, and close it at night - although ideally you need to keep it closed to "up" the humidity. Danger of the plant getting fungal infection if the humidity is very high - but I take that risk and run VERY high humidity levels in my greenhouse April - end of May, as I think it reduces the stress on the plants ebecause they lose less water through their leaves.

Several of my Chilli varieties are desperately slow getting going - to the point where I am getting cross! but the others have romped away. Dunno why, they are side-by-side in the greenhouse.
