I have a chilli plant in my conservatory that I got as part of a job lot of veg so i do not know what type it is. At the moment it has quite a few fruits on it, they are a lime green colour (lighter than the green chillis you get in the shops).

What I am wondering is how do I know when they are ready for use, when you see red chillis are they likely to be a different vareiety or if I leave my green ones a while will they go red?

Also anyone any suggestions on the best way to store them - can you dry them or anything - as it looks like I am going to have a right glut of them all being ready at the same time.
