Here's an extract from a article in the Amateur Gardening Magazine...........

"The website of Chiltern Seeds was knocked offline and customer sensitive personal data stolen in a hacking attack.
Customers were then sent emails by the hackers , who attempted to trick people into giving away their credit card details. The cyber attack happened at the end of February and was followed by the theft of customers names, addresses, email addresses, and telephone numbers.
But Chiltern Seeds insisted that customers financial details had not been stolen. Sally Redhead,co-owner of Chiltern Seeds told AG "the details taken seem to be those of customers from several years ago when we were based in Cumbria, rather than a current secure database. Nevertheless, we take this seriously and have beefed up our Website's security." Sally added "I'd like to reassure customers that Bank details are'nt stored by us, and were never at risk"
However, shortly after the attack, Chiltern Sees said it became aware that some Customers were being sent "phishing" emails, purporting to be from Chiltern Seeds.
A link in the e-mail sent users to a website where they were asked to fill in their credit card details in order to receive a Hamper they had won.
"Many people are used to getting the occasional "phishing" emails from Banks and other large organisations" said Sally, "but they probably don't expect to get something like this from Chiltern Seeds. The only saving grace is that this "Chiltern email is poorly written and contains spellling mistakes, so will hopefully ring alarm bells"
She added that anyone who has been fooled into giving away their bank details should immediately contact their Bank and cancel their card."
