chinese cabbage

i,ve set some pak choi cabbage away. it,s growing like mad. it,s my first go at this. do i have to grow it any differently to normal cabbage.when planting out. and what,s it taste like. cheers

 

you plant it, and grow it, before you know what it tastes like?

I think its great, not totally like cabbage, a little less strong, made it the other day in some sesame oil, garlic, and soy sauce. was good.

 

of course i do. thats why i garden. to try new ideas and tastes.if i don,t like it i won,t grow it again. i,m sorry i asked.

It grows much faster than ordinary cabbage and will tend to bolt if the weather suddenly warms up. Keep it well watered and watch out for cabbage white caterpillars.

 

I sow it later in the season as I think it bolts if sown early in the year - FingersCrossed though

 

I think mines about to bolt...live n learn ,i shall sow more
