This beauty was found by a group of children in an underpass here in Cwmbran. She was dumped in a catbox. Somehow, she found her way to us. The RSPCA were called, and eventually they came and picked her up. Thankfully, she is micro chipped so they were able to re-unite her with her owners. Her name is Chloe, and I have it on good authority that she is a Maine Coon cat, so pretty rare in this country. It just goes to show the advantage of having your pets "chipped " people. The consensus of opinion is that she was stolen, why she was abandoned is a mystery, she is a lovely cat who purred all the time she was with us.:D
She probably had been dumped recently because the main coon hair become absolutely impossible to districate unless taken care of every day.
Nice one, Dai.:D:kittykiss: My cats are "chipped" just in case, but when they misbehave I often threaten them with being chipped another way
Brilliant that she got home safely! All 3 of mine are chipped AND registered. I would hope that if one of them got lost like Chloe that someone lovely like you would look after them and get them home!
Her fur was quite matted, she will need to be shorn to sort it out I would think. John, I would say you are right there.:D
My Maine Coon can get a bit of a mess I must say but we try and keep on top of it. The git doesn't like it much though. He had to be shaved last Jan. and is only now starting to look like normal. His name is Monster.
OH tried brushing her but her fur was too matted. How rare and expensive is this breed over here Catztail?
I got mine for 250 because I didn't need his papers. I think they are fairly easy to find really. Depends on the area and prices vary. He's a big booger..... hehehe. My othuuer 2 are rescues.
Awww, she's a little sweetie I wonder if when they realised she was chipped they just dumped here ? I do hope her owners are nice people and that she wasn't dumped by them though ..... it would be nice to hear how she's doing in say a couple of months time - i.e. has she 'disappeared' again ? In these tough financial times you hear different reports of how pets are 'treated' :(
Louise, I don`t thenk the owners would dump her when she`s been chipped, a quick scan and they are found out. The woman at the RSPCA was happy for us to keep her, but she was such a special cat we had to try and find her owners.
