Has anyone got some tips for doing cuttings of Choisya 'Aztec Pearl' please? Easy? Difficult? What sort of medium?
The nurseries here want silly money and my prize specimen is due for a haircut :) TIA

I'd normally do evergreen cuttings November/December, but you could try and strike them any time really. Not the easiest choisya to root, but not difficult either.
4 inches long cut just below a leave node, growing tip pinched out. You'll be left with something that looks like a 'T'. Sandy soil...or just sharp sand, I very rarely use rooting hormone, you can if you want. Put them near the outside of a pot....something to do with aeration better for them, then in a propagator or clear plastic bag trying to stop the leaves touching the bag. This method stops a lot of transpiration from the leaves. Stick them somewhere light but not direct sunlight, they'll cook otherwise. Try to take the cuttings a couple of hours after rain, or a good watering(more turgidity).
Take a few cuttings at various times during the year, some will take:fingers crossed:

Thanks, chaps :) The irony is that the C. ternata 'Sundance' has layered all around itself.....any number of those to transplant, but not enough shady spots to put them :dunno:
