    hi wiseoldowl

im not 100% on this one but was thinking about doing one a few years back and had a look round for some info

if i remember right you lay your turf normal (square) then work out where the middle of the lawn will be (when its in a circle) then put a post or something along the same line attach some string and put it to the length that you want the circle

then with chalk holding the line tight and straight go round in your circle then cut it out should be perfect but i bet you know that bit already :D

but im sure i read lay the turf then cut it not the other way round .

good luck and don't forget post a pic when your done would love to see it [IMG]

    Hi there Catwoman,

Just the info i needed :D [IMG] I have a large angular garden and want to reshape the lawn to soften the whole effect and found a circle quite appealing but didn't know where to start.

    You are a gem [IMG]

just to say that catwoman is spot on, thats how i've seen it done too! just remember that when you use the peg in the middle, make sure that the string spins on the peg and doesn't wrap itself around it, otherwise you'll end up with an egg shape!! I know, i tried! [IMG]

it is helpful if you can look down on the lawn to make sure it looks circular and central to the area you want it in, before you cut. I used a bright orange hose pipe laid as the circle and viewed it from my upstairs window, its amazing, what looks ok from the ground looks wonky from above!

Good luck WOO and AG [IMG]
