Citrus plant brown leaft patches

My lemon plant has suddenly developed brown leaf patches over a cluster of leaves following which the leaves drop?

The brown part of the leaf is dead.

Any idea what is happening?

 

I had a similar experience kerripaul. I put it down to the dry central heating and extremes in temperatures. Have you checked for unwanted guests ?
